A special meeting was held at the headquarters of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, dedicated to supporting the “Sweida Is One of Us” campaign, which was launched as an initiative within the national efforts aimed at supporting Sweida Governorate and improving its services and living conditions.
The meeting brought together the Federation's President, Mr. Alaa Omar Al-Ali, and the Governor of Sweida, Dr. Mustafa Al-Bakour, along with a number of presidents of chambers of commerce and chambers of commerce and industry in the governorates.
The Federation's President called on Syrian businesspeople to provide financial and in-kind support and to take part in implementing development projects that serve the people of Sweida, stressing the need to involve the chambers of commerce and industry in all governorates in order to widen the circle of support and promote the campaign.
For his part, the Governor of Sweida noted that the campaign represents a model of social solidarity and cooperation and a real opportunity to unite the efforts of the public and private sectors, affirming that the donations will be directed with full transparency to projects covering health, education and infrastructure.
The attendees affirmed the importance of the role the business sector can play inside the country and abroad, particularly Syrian expatriates, in making this initiative a success, and the need to set priorities for the projects that require urgent support.
