The President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Alaa Omar Al-Ali, met the Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Damascus, Mr. Ibrahim Hassan, to review ways to strengthen trade relations between the two countries. The two sides discussed the possibility of forming a joint business council aimed at enhancing economic and investment cooperation, as well as renewing previous economic agreements and participating actively in trade exhibitions to increase the volume of trade exchange, helping to open new horizons for development projects that serve the interests of the Syrian and Sudanese peoples.
In the course of the meeting, the Federation's President called for resolving all the issues facing Syrian businesspeople and traders in Sudan and for facilitating the granting of entry visas to them, in order to help them follow up on their stalled projects in Sudan. The importance of simplifying procedures and removing obstacles to Syrian investment in Sudan was also emphasised, so as to accelerate the pace of trade cooperation between the two countries.
