President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce discusses with an American economic delegation ways to develop trade and investment relations

The President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Alaa Omar Al-Ali, discussed with an American economic delegation headed by Mr. Charles Meyer ways to strengthen and develop trade and investment relations between the two countries, during a meeting held at the Federation's headquarters in Damascus in the presence of Dr. Anas Al-Bo, Advisor to the Federation's President.

During the meeting, the Federation's President outlined the Federation's role in developing the business environment and facilitating communication between local and international investors, as well as the core tasks it undertakes in supporting the Syrian private sector and coordinating efforts among the chambers of commerce and the chambers of commerce and industry in the various governorates.

The Federation's President also addressed the investment fields available in Syria, most notably reconstruction, which opens wide horizons for companies wishing to contribute to building infrastructure and public services, as well as investment in the agricultural sector, which is considered the cornerstone of the national economy.

The Federation's President spoke about Syria's industrial cities, such as Adra, Hisyaa and Sheikh Najjar, noting the suitable environment they offer industrial projects in terms of infrastructure and government facilities, which makes them an attractive destination for industrial investment.

The two sides stressed the importance of commercial arbitration, which provides legal security for investors, and its role in strengthening the business environment, attracting investment, guaranteeing investors' rights and settling disputes in accordance with international standards, ensuring that commercial justice is achieved in a professional and swift manner.

For its part, the American delegation expressed its strong interest in the investment opportunities available in Syria and its wish to study the possibility of establishing joint projects in agriculture, energy and manufacturing industries, noting the efforts the Syrian government is making to improve the investment environment and provide the necessary guarantees for investors.
