President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce welcomes the repeal of the Caesar Act as a pivotal step towards national economic recovery

President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce welcomes the repeal of the Caesar Act as a pivotal step towards national economic recovery

The President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Alaa Omar Al-Ali, welcomed the U.S. Senate vote in favour of repealing the “Caesar Act” imposed on Syria, describing the move as a decisive economic turning point that restores hope to Syria's business community of traders and industrialists after years of restrictions that shackled production and trade.

In a media statement, Mr. Al-Ali affirmed that lifting the sanctions will contribute directly to improving the production environment and raising the quality of local products, as well as revitalising trade between Syria, its neighbouring countries and the world, and opening new horizons for investment and foreign capital to enter the Syrian market, supporting the financing of major projects, particularly in the reconstruction phase.

On behalf of the chambers of commerce and the chambers of commerce and industry in Syria, the Federation's President also expressed his deep appreciation to all those who contributed to the repeal of this law, paying tribute to Syrian diplomacy led by His Excellency the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to the Syrian community in the United States of America for their sincere efforts, and to Syria's brothers for their steadfast support and honourable positions alongside the Syrian people.
