The President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Alaa Omar Al-Ali, received today at the Federation's headquarters the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Syria, Mr. Gyu-sik Jeon. The two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment and the economy, strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors in both countries, and the importance of organising joint economic forums bringing together businesspeople from the two countries.
During the meeting, the Federation's President stressed the importance of broadening the horizons of commercial and industrial cooperation between Syria and South Korea, underlining Syria's need for leading Korean companies in the reconstruction phase, given their advanced technical and industrial expertise, which can contribute to the revival of infrastructure and the productive sectors.
For his part, the South Korean Ambassador expressed his country's interest in strengthening economic relations with Syria, affirming the readiness of Korean companies to consider investment opportunities and to take part in development and reconstruction projects.
