Statement of thanks and appreciation to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce

The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce expressed its profound thanks and appreciation to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, represented by its Vice President, Mr. John Murphy, for its responsible position calling for the full repeal of the Caesar Act imposed on Syria, which has caused direct harm to civilians and obstructed the country's development.

In an official statement, the Federation affirmed that this initiative reflects a deep understanding of the political and economic transformations Syria is witnessing at the present stage, noting the importance of such positions in opening new horizons for economic cooperation and joint building in the interests of both peoples and in support of regional stability.

The Federation explained that the call came at a pivotal moment following the fall of the regime that brought about the economic sanctions, and the long suffering that followed, which affected citizens' lives and Syria's productive base. It considered the position of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce an important step towards economic reopening and the return of American and international companies to contribute to the country's reconstruction and to invest in the promising opportunities of the Syrian market.

The Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce stressed Damascus's readiness to cooperate fully with the United States to build bridges of trust and strengthen trade and investment partnerships, affirming that Syria looks forward to opening a new economic chapter based on positive engagement and direct communication, in pursuit of shared interests and in support of the region's stability and development.

The Federation concluded its statement by affirming that this American initiative marks the beginning of a new economic path between Damascus and Washington, expressing its hope that the steps towards openness will continue and that relations will develop in a way that serves both peoples and restores vitality to international cooperation with Syria.
